MOVE MORE! Exercise has many benefits such as weight loss, disease prevention, and just plain feeling better. So, why is it difficult sometimes to make exercise a priority and get moving everday?
“I DON’T HAVE TIME!”
You can make physical activity a part of your daily schedule if you keep in mind that the recommended 30 minutes of exercise a day for adults doesn’t have to be done all at once and can include work-oriented tasks like raking leaves. Keeping track of your steps using a pedometer can help you realize, “Hey, I was physically active today!”
“I DON’T LIKE TO EXERCISE!”
For the general population, the “no pain, no gain” rule does not apply; exercise does not have to hurt! It can be at an intensity you are comfortable with and a type that you enjoy. If you like your exercise routine, there’s a better chance you’ll stick with it.
“THERE’S NO PLACE TO EXERCISE!”
It may be true that you can’t find exactly what you are looking for in a rural area, but you may be surprised at the amount of recreational opportunity available to you. (See Wellsboro Parks and Rec and Kestone Active Zone below).
